Mission: Polio free India :)

'Bulawa Toli' is a lovely concept designed by Unicef for children participation in the Polio Vaccination in rural areas in India. It means 'inviters group'.

Here's an extract to give you a basic idea of this particular programm and part of it's strategy concerning India.
"In order to reach the global goal of reaching zero incidence of polio by 2000 AD, a strategy to intensify PPI was adopted in 1999-2000, after consulting national and international experts. The strategy consisted of four nation-wide PPI rounds in the months of October, November, December 2000 and January 2001; followed by two sub-national rounds in 8 States of Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal and routine immunization, especially in the poor performing States.

In earlier years, despite very good coverage, 5-6% of children was being missed even in the PPI Programme. During 1999-2000 therefore, in addition to booth immunization, a house to house search of missed children and vaccinating them on the next 2-3 days following each NID/ Sub-NID was undertaken. This house to house programm resulted in identification and vaccination 2.3 crore children who had never been vaccinated before"

: As a part of this house to house program, 'Bulawa Toli' came into existence. Here a group of children from every village is assigned to bring infants with (consent of their respective parents of course)from their neighborhoods who have missed their Polio-drops. Personally speaking, these selfless young hearts have played this role better than adults bringing so much joy and enthusiasm to the campaign!

Vivi5 is proud to be part of this polio eradication mission 2015.
We were assigned to design Bulawa Toli graphic that is now being as a visual identity for the campaign. On caps, banners, t-shirts, etc.

Millennium Development Goals 2010 by Unicef:

Here’s the 2nd MDGs (Millennium Development Goals 2010) book for UNICEF.
Making of Unicef’s MDGs Book 2010:
As usual we proposed two visual treatments for the illustrations for the book this time. A 2D and a 3-D clay, directing all our energies to the later of course :). Unicef liked our idea of breaking away and coming up with different style of illustrations that would appeal both children and as well the elders.
1] Initial character designs by Mehul composed within the proposed specs as per the 8 MDGs goals, briefed to us by Lopez agency:
2] Models taking shape:
3] Shooting!
4] Composing each model and backgrounds as per initial sketch-layout. Followed by minor tweaks to give a better look. And Book layout design options:
