Home Center Showpackaging
Home Center Dubai show-packaging was animated and designed by Vivi5 for their web episodes and commissioned by super cool CreativeKettle, Dubai.
Please do take this post as our ideal process to design development for every project at our studio. :)
Brief. To create a 15 to 20 seconder animated packaging to show three to four rooms transforming from bad to good by Home Center makeover team.
Script. We worked out a script on how we see it all unfolding. This was followed by visual boards as a reference to the final 'look and feel' should be like.
Look and Feel a.k.a Film Treatment.
Initial processing of designs while keeping the brand colors in mind.

Final design!

Next, Visual script, storyboarding and animatics:
Preplanning and designing other spaces.
Living Room. Before | After

Dining + Children's Room. Before | After

Character Designs in their respective spaces.
HC makeover staff characters including the design consultant.
This is how the final packaging looks like!

Landmarkshops.com
Landmarkshops.com promotion ad came to us as very basic minimalistic animation requirement, close to a slide-show-like. It was to be played in shops as OOH.
What made us still say yes to the project was of course the joy of working with one our favorite client CreativeKettle for their ever-welcoming approach to ideas with an intention to make the final output better while allowing explorations and experimentations.
Storyboard came to us well designed sequence of slides* that were to be animated as it is.
Boards:
Vivi5 proposed on illustrating the Landmarkshops hearts 'L' to their respective meanings. Such as an illustrated/icon-like dress for the word 'DRESS', illustrated gadget for the word 'Gadget', so on and so forth. The client found the idea interesting and we were given a go ahead to show 'how it will all look like' with illustrations. We reworked the storyboard with client's list of objects we could illustration.

We Love WE CHAT

Above visual is company website. Courtesy WeChat.com
WeChat is a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China. The company launched it's service in India this year with an event organized in Mumbai that carried a well designed campaign for it's branding and marketing.
We were approached by production company TheOneFilms to design+direct+animate a story that will cover communication modes/methods between two individuals from old to new electronic means and will ultimately get resolved by WeChat way of communicating. The Thot company worked out the whole concept and script.
Challenge! TheOneFlims asked us if we can pull off a 2:30 mins film in a week. Considering the scale of work both in dimension and duration, this was close to impossible but we took it up as a challenge that comes along with a thrill when working for a different platform i.e.; for an 'Event'. And we made it; almost like in an olympic race with everyone's heart pounding with anxieties audible in their shouts while watching a runner reach the finish line!
Here a glimpse to making of the film, the final animation and event video!
Design options using brand color "green" while allowing the silhouettes appear clean against monochrome color schemes:
Redesigning: The girl goes on to become glamourous from looking cute after client feedback. We got our guy going in sync with the girls new design:
Vivi5 suggested to let one of the characters be 'white' considering WeChat had one green and one white bubble in their logo. White being the boy character to let the girl look elegant in green silhouette. The suggestion mutually synced with the clients and we got our final treatment:

Nokia X3 & C3 Series_Touch and Type Viral
Like we know Nokia touch and type campaign international have shown finger and thumb as TOUCH and TYPE for easy use.
Webchutney came up with concept of ' bury the rivalry' between the thumb and finger, by giving a desi-tadakka / Indian spicy feel to this campaign for the Indian market by making the 'thumb' character a Punjabi Pahalwan - wrestler personality calling him TypoBhai. And the 'finger' became Touchy Tai Chi using his martial art to fight back. Funny Blend, indeed!

We was approached with this brief and what followed is designing these characters, animatics, treatment/style design and the final viral. Here's a glimpse for you!

Polio Vaccination_ Unicef
It's this time of the year again. There will be Polio Vaccination booths all around India by Unicef.
Here's a glimpse of our shoot in one such camps in Gaziabad. Soon after this wonderfully memorable energizing experience with children there, I was assigned to design there Calender and Diary for year 2011! I should be able to share them in my next post.
Until then get mesmerized by the infinite joy that twinkles in these their eyes. And get affected ;). I still am months after meeting them.

Can't wait to get back on the field again this month. Cheers!

Meet Our Steve_GRSP
"STEVE - a quirky, lively and poignant animation aims to give the viewers a different perspective on road safety by focusing on the hidden danger on the roads. Deaths due to road crash injuries is the number one killer of youth between 15 and 29 years old.
GRSP is a hosted project of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, based in Geneva. GRSP's vision is a world free of road-crash death and injury."

Mission: Polio free India :)
'Bulawa Toli' is a lovely concept designed by Unicef for children participation in the Polio Vaccination in rural areas in India. It means 'inviters group'.
Here's an extract to give you a basic idea of this particular programm and part of it's strategy concerning India.
"In order to reach the global goal of reaching zero incidence of polio by 2000 AD, a strategy to intensify PPI was adopted in 1999-2000, after consulting national and international experts. The strategy consisted of four nation-wide PPI rounds in the months of October, November, December 2000 and January 2001; followed by two sub-national rounds in 8 States of Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal and routine immunization, especially in the poor performing States.
In earlier years, despite very good coverage, 5-6% of children was being missed even in the PPI Programme. During 1999-2000 therefore, in addition to booth immunization, a house to house search of missed children and vaccinating them on the next 2-3 days following each NID/ Sub-NID was undertaken. This house to house programm resulted in identification and vaccination 2.3 crore children who had never been vaccinated before"
: As a part of this house to house program, 'Bulawa Toli' came into existence. Here a group of children from every village is assigned to bring infants with (consent of their respective parents of course)from their neighborhoods who have missed their Polio-drops. Personally speaking, these selfless young hearts have played this role better than adults bringing so much joy and enthusiasm to the campaign!
Vivi5 is proud to be part of this polio eradication mission 2015.
We were assigned to design Bulawa Toli graphic that is now being as a visual identity for the campaign. On caps, banners, t-shirts, etc.

Millennium Development Goals 2010 by Unicef:

Here’s the 2nd MDGs (Millennium Development Goals 2010) book for UNICEF.
Making of Unicef’s MDGs Book 2010:
As usual we proposed two visual treatments for the illustrations for the book this time. A 2D and a 3-D clay, directing all our energies to the later of course :). Unicef liked our idea of breaking away and coming up with different style of illustrations that would appeal both children and as well the elders.
1] Initial character designs by Mehul composed within the proposed specs as per the 8 MDGs goals, briefed to us by Lopez agency:

2] Models taking shape:

3] Shooting!

4] Composing each model and backgrounds as per initial sketch-layout. Followed by minor tweaks to give a better look. And Book layout design options:

5] Final book!
